Lung cancer is when abnormal cells divide in an uncontrolled way to form a tumour in the lung. Like all cancers, early detection improves your odds of survival. Unfortunately, there are usually no signs or symptoms in the early stages of lung cancer.
Nonetheless, any “unexplained changes” that last for three weeks or more should be investigated, said Doctor Amir on ITV’s Good Morning Britain.
According to the TV doc, “changes in the shape of your fingernails” are a major red flag.
Certain changes in the shape of your fingers and fingernails is also known as finger clubbing, digital clubbing or Hippocratic fingers.
According to Cancer Research UK, finger clubbing usually affects the top of the fingers on both hands. And can also affect toes.
