As a mother and wife living with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis (UC), Jacklyn raises awareness as an advocate for others living with UC, sharing how her experience with this disease has inspired her to be more present in her day-to-day life.
But things were not always this way.
While Jacklyn exhibits strength and confidence today, she acknowledges the hard work that went into accepting her illness while not letting it define her. Through “In My Words: Life with Ulcerative Colitis,” a content series from Pfizer, which was produced by Courageous Studios, CNN’s content studio, Jacklyn discusses the highs and lows from her journey with UC in the hopes that her story will inspire others with UC to partner with their healthcare team to get the most out of their care.
“Ulcerative colitis has taught me to appreciate the small moments, empower myself, advocate for myself and to share my story,” Jacklyn shares.
