An acupuncture treatment for four weeks relieved the symptoms in people who suffered regularly after eating digestive disorders. The positive effects of acupuncture persisted during the twelve-week follow-up period without a relapse.
Researchers at the Beijing University of Chinese medicine have published results of a randomized clinical trial, suggest that chronic after eating occurring digestive disturbances such as bloating and flatulence by acupuncture reduce. They noted that in the acupuncture group had a significantly higher proportion of patients reported improvement in or elimination of their symptoms than among the participants of a group that had unknowingly received a sham acupuncture.
Serious side effects were not observed, and the improvement of digestive disturbances, lasted for at least twelve weeks after the last acupuncture treatment. The study is in the journal "Annals of Internal Medicine" published.

The scientists had treated 278 patients for four weeks, a total of twelve times with either a real acupuncture or sham acupuncture, and compared how many patients from each group a complete decline, an extreme improvement in or relief of gastro-intestinal symptoms had occurred.
Of chronic digestive problems after eating a lot of people are affected already at relatively young ages. Bloating and flatulence reduce the quality of life of these people, sometimes drastically, and many are desperate for a treatment.
